The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has taken down a gang targeting casino ATMs in Albertaās capital city of Edmonton.Ā
According to reports on Tuesday, the RCMPās Federal Policing Northwest Region (NWR) charged four individuals in relation to a coordinated ATM fraud.

The charges came after an NWR probe into suspicious activity linked to Edmonton-area casino-based ATMs dispensing a string of high-value withdrawals that led to āa service disruption to ATMs across western Canada.ā
Authorities gathered enough evidence to be granted six search warrants, which were executed by the NWR in conjunction with the Edmonton Police Service.
During the execution of the warrants, law enforcement discovered evidence of money laundering and fraud.
The RCMP claims the four suspects withdrew large amounts of cash as part of āa coordinated scheme intended to evade detection and exploit financial institutions.ā
Authorities state the fraud cost financial companies a net loss of over $1m.Ā Ā
